You can really change the world if you care enough – or can you ?

You can really change the world if you care enough...or can you ?

Life is a queer subject. In the first part, the lessons come through books and fables. Moral stories, they call it - carefully crafted stories that are aimed to instill in you the characteristics that will make you happy and successful.

But at a certain point, life stops teaching you lessons through these moral stories. Instead, it uses another weapon - called experience. It's no more about the genie coming out of Alladin's lamp or Robert Bruce watching a spider build a web and learning the secrets of conquest from it. Instead, it's about you - You are the protagonist of the story. You screw up, you make mistakes, you watch yourself fumble and you learn from those.

Often, the lessons that experiences teaches us makes me wonder if we need to go back and revamp our motivational quotes and moral stories as per the new world order.

For example, here's a popular quote :

You can really change the world if you care enough

It's a simple quote that tells you the importance of caring. But the question is : Does this quote apply to today's world ?

Care enough and you'll change the world - is it that simple ? Does it even work that way today ?

From what I've learnt through my personal experience, the answer is NO.

No matter how much you care, no matter how much you want the best for the world, you can't change the world.

Why? Because the world operates with it's own sense of judgement and an over-inflated sense of ego that is growing with each passing day.

So no matter how much you care for a person, how much you have their best interest in their mind, if they have decided not to change, there's nothing that you can actually do about it. In fact, try long enough and at one point of time the very world that you had the best interests for will start hurting you.

This ain't complaining.

This ain't ranting

This is just how the world works these days.

In life, you will run into people ( lots of em' ) who will be screwing themselves up completely and there's nothing you can do about it.

You might have their best interests your heart. They might mean the world to you. You might be tempted to save them, no matter how much hurt they cause to you.

My advice to you is : Stop !

You can't save those who don't want to be saved.

All the hurt that you go through, hoping that one day they might realize the truth - it's never gonna happen.

And trust me, getting yourself hurt while trying to save someone who doesn't want to be saved isn't worth the effort. .

At the end, the very world will end up resenting you when all you did was care for it's betterment - and I promise you that ain't the best feeling on earth.

Understand that no matter how hard you try, you can't change certain things. you'll just have to change yourself for the better and move on.

I know this ain't what they told you in the moral stories.

Care and you'll make the world better they said.

I say Care less and make your world better.

The final choice, I leave it to you.

Cause just like the world, I'm not going to waste my energy on forcing you into the right path if you don't want to.
